Folks, when my agent came to me and said I should give away my book for free, I thought he had gone completely insane. I moved immediately to have him committed, until I discovered that this is much more difficult to do than it looks on television.
He was a little upset over the ordeal, and explained his idea a little bit more. Apparently, I have an electronic version of my book, “Just Stop Having Problems, Stupid!”, also known as an e-book.
I’m not sure how one turns the pages. There’s something called an Acrobat that I guess you hire to switch the bits of the ones and zeros when you want to move on.
“You see Dr. Matt,” he said. “Sometimes you can get more people on the internet excited about your idea by giving things away for free. And with your second book coming out…”
“Wait a minute,” I said. “The internet? You mean the stuff that appears when I click the little blue ‘e’?”
He seemed a little unsettled by my question for some reason, and continued to say that people might liked to get warmed up for my next book: Just Stop Having Stupid Relationships!. I was a little confused how I would still take people’s money in the meantime, and then he mentioned Google and I kind of spaced out. Anyway, hope you enjoy the free e-book!
